Chef Matt Manning perfected his trade in London’s finest Michelin-starred restaurants under the tutelage of some of the best in the business, including Gordon Ramsay, Marcus Wareing and Alyn Williams.
Upon relocating to South Africa, Matt worked at La Colombe, before his inherent entrepreneurial spirit saw him embarking on a solo career as a private chef, where he regularly cooked for bespoke events, corporate functions, intimate occasions, and clients abroad.
During this time, Matt also hosted a number of pop-up dining experiences which were open to the public for booking, such as his popular One Ingredient dinners and Private Kitchen brunches. In December, Matt opened his first restaurant ‘Grub & Vine’, a cosy bistro on Bree Street which serves relaxed yet refined fare from a small, seasonal menu. Located within the same building and above Grub & Vine is ‘The Chef’s Studio’, Matt’s interactive events space equipped with the latest cookware from brand partners Siemens and Scanpan, with Rugged Concrete surfaces by Caesarstone. The Chef’s Studio is now the permanent home of Matt’s interactive dinner experiences, while also regularly hosting cooking classes, guest chef events and other functions.
