The spacious interior of the room with its sumptuous four poster bed is the perfect place to rest after a day exploring. The walls are adorned with stunning pieces from a local artist and the luxuriously appointed bathroom begs only one question: bath or shower? We loved spending the late afternoon before sundowners on the patio overlooking the bushveld and being as close to nature as possible in the most tranquil setting.

The Victoria Falls Safari Club offers pure luxury, from the butler style service, complimentary laundry service and even complimentary head and shoulder or foot massages to the majestically appointed rooms with customized toiletries.

Sundowners and snacks at the lounge are a perfect way to get ready for the evening. They have the most amazing oven dried biltong that you can enjoy and boy was that divine, not to mention the homemade lemonade, which we could have drank it by the jugful. The views from here over the watering hole where the animals come for their evening sip are beyond spectacular. With complimentary wi-fi available your instagram will be loving you.

We were delighted at one daily activity in particular, the Culture Vulture experience, where each day at midday Staff put out leftover raw meat from the kitchen in front of the lodge and the vultures in the area are able to swoop down and grab the scraps. This meat supplements their usual diet, as there is not always enough natural food in the bush for them to forage. Guests can witness the spectacular sight of hundreds of vultures descending from the sky. The feeding program also allows the threatened vulture numbers to be monitored by scientists with data collection and population counts.

There are so many reasons to experience The Victoria Falls Safari Club and with the hotel being just 24kms from the Victoria Falls International Airport it makes perfect sense to escape to this little gem that’s less than two hours flying time away from South Africa. Once you arrive you will be collected at the airport via shuttle and your days of ‘no worries’ begins, that would be a great way to spend a Valentines Day is what we’re thinking.
