Portobello Green, London – 9 – 10 December
It’s in the same area as the Notting Hill Carnival so you know its going to be good. Now in its second year the festival is set once again to be a highlight on the calendar of both locals and visitors alike. If you’re in London this season, you know where to go for a good time and a spot of shopping, complete with Santa’s grotto, calypso dancing, an alternative Christmas Market! Expect less elves and more winter wizards, a ‘Made in London’ market, A Winter Moorish Bazaar, as well as be live entertainment, dancers, and DJs providing non-stop music throughout the day. Sunday will include a ‘Hamper and Stockings’ market , where you can stock up on all your favourite and finest Christmas hamper treats.
Sabor a Cabo Los Cabos, Mexico – 9 December
Some of the world’s finest chefs will gather for the annual food and wine festival in Los Cabos. The main event will be held in the Puerto Los Cabos sculpture garden and is expected to draw over 2000 attendees. Cabo’s best local chefs will prepare their signature dishes for this important culinary event.
L’Artigiano in Fiera, 5-13 December – Milano, Italy
One of the most anticipated fairs in Milan this December, L’Artigiano in Fiera will display a spectrum of handmade crafts from Italy and around the world. With stalls selling everything including jewellery, art, furniture, clothing and food, you’re bound to find something that takes your fancy. The event is being held at on Strada Statale Sempione, and will be open each day from 10am until 10.30pm.
A Drag Queen Christmas – 13 December – New Orleans, USA
The naughty tour, starring contestants from popular TV show Ru-Paul’s Drag Race performing live and rocking the catwalk. Venice Carnival, Italy – 27 January – 18 February

International Kite Festival, 7-14 January – Gujarat, India
See millions of brightly colored kites take over the sky from sunrise until sunset at this festival, which marks the occasion of Makar Sankranti (the transition of the sun into the northern hemisphere) and celebrates life and fertility. The event attracts kite flyers from many different countries. In addition to kite flying, there’s aerial acrobats, kite painting competitions, and kite making workshops. Great fun for kids!

The festival presents the biggest and best of the world’s performing and visual arts, all coming together in an avalanche of artistic activity.
