TRAVEL SAVVY | NOVEMBER 2017

These days it seems as though there is an app or blog for just about anything you could think of.  With so many available we’ve rounded up a few tried and tested apps that could help make travel just that little bit less stressful and a lot more relaxed!

1. Cool Cousin

We love this app. If you’re like me and love to do ‘what the locals do’ when you travel then this is perfect for you. It’s like having a friend in a strange place where local folk share their best places to shop, eat & party.

2. Memrise

Learn a new language and look cool doing it. This app works for just about any language, includes the simplest of phrases to the most difficult. So now you can ask for your favourite meal in Spain…or Japan…just like a local.

3. G – Spotting

This one we loved not just because of it’s rad name or that it was created by Gwyneth Paltrow from her own travel experiences or those of her friends but also because you can tailor make your requirements:  like if you’re a foodie looking for great eating places or an art lover looking for that next great piece you can easily customize what you want the app to do.

4. Solo Traveller

So if you’re like me and find yourself travelling alone every now and again this app is great for you. You can find other solo travelers or even meet locals in the area, share your experiences or recommendations and even build your own traveler community.

There are other apps like TKTS that are specific to theatre shows in London and New York where you can get tickets at reduced rates and of course Uber and AirBnB are must haves but do try our suggestions and of course you can never go wrong with TripAdvisor – I still use this one often because it’s real people giving you real tips, advice and recommendations.

Please do contact us if you have any other travel apps that you’ve used and think are great..
