Stomp The grape
It is well known around the world that La Rioja and wine go together. The wines from this region of northern Spain have gained international recognition. Such is the quality of the wine from La Rioja, which has become the hallmark of this land. The Harvest Parties honor San Mateo, patron of Logroño, and transform the city into a stage of many festive events with wine as the protagonist. One of the most spectacular is the Treading of the Grape: young men dressed in traditional costumes step on the freshly harvested grapes to obtain the first must of the season, which will later offer to the Virgin of the Valvanera.Concerts of music for all tastes, a taurine fair, an international fireworks competition, aerial dance shows in the middle of the night and popular tastings complete the Harvest Festival program. If you’re in Spain around the 14th September make your way to the Fiesta de la Vendimia
