Chef Mo is from an Atoll south of Male called Fuvahmulah, it is the only Atoll in the Maldives with just one island. Unfortunately, living in such a remote location, he was not able to get a lot of fresh produce. His mother had a small yam farm so Chef Mo ate yams with almost every meal.

Then in 1997 he began working at Anantara as a dishwasher. He saw the chefs cooking, was excited to learn about food and always offered them a hand.
