During a very French breakfast, media were introduced to Roche Bobois CEO, Gilles Bonan, who shared his ambitions for South Africa, a market Roche Bobois has long wanted to share its collections with:
“Cape Town is the first step. Of course we are very ambitious for this country; Johannesburg would be the next natural stage and then we would see, but we could possibly have three or four stores in South Africa in the coming years”.

The Media also had the opportunity to meet with one of Roche Bobois’ most renowned designers, Sacha Lakic. Well known for his automotive designs, he shared his strong interest for movement and speed as well as his passion for future technologies. The partnership between Sacha Lakic and Roche Bobois began in 1996; their excellent understanding led to major collections such as Speed up in 2005, Brio, the Strato desk, the Scenario sofa, and more recently the Bubble sofa.

Ending the day on a high note, a glamourous cocktail party was hosted in the beautiful 700sqm showroom. Media, interior decorators, architects and very VIPs coming from across the country and abroad, met to celebrate the official launch of the first Roche Bobois showroom in South Africa.
